But I attribute this primarily to user error and the fact that we were rocking from the waves so it was hard to hold the camera steady. We used this case to protect our camera when snorkeling in the Galapagos. Overall, bottom line is it took clear pictures and most importantly kept the camera dry, and we were pretty happy. It was comfortably able to withstand quite a few rocky waves, and the camera stayed dry although in the water for a couple hours at a time. It was sometimes difficult to get the zoom to point out through the zoom tube accurately - ie the rim sometimes left peripheral shadows in the picture. There's probably better stuff out there but just depends how much you want to pay. It's a great product for its price.
Very prompt service and camera case was exactly described. We are now enjoying underwater photography with pristine photos. Thank you. : )

The case was too big for my camera, which meant that even after all of my positioning, the camera would slide around inside while I was trying to take pictures. All in all, I got what I paid for, my camera was protected from the elements, and I got about two or three good shots out of 10. Worked like a charm. For a one time use, it served its purpose. The lens cover is WAY too big for my camera, but that's what can be expected from a "one size fits all" case.
I needed it for a trip I was taking, and didn't see the point in purchasing the more expensive version knowing I'd probably only use it once.I have a Canon Powershot SD750. For 30 bucks, it was definitely a bargain. Didn't really matter, everything was pretty self explanatory, just seemed kinda odd. Some specs on the camera: The case has two openings; 1) obviously where you insert the camera 2) the lens cover unscrews (I suppose to help you position the camera). My camera has a switch on top for alternating between video and picture modes.
the battery cover on my camera kept sticking to the vinyl and coming open while sliding the camera in, so once I got the camera inside, it wouldn't turn on. The information slip included with the camera seemed like it was written by a double talker; made absolutely no sense, just random words in no particular order. The water proof function is achieved using two separate areas of velcro and a ziploc enclosure as the final water barrier. The case comes with a strap that is about two feet long from end to end.Getting the camera in and out of the case is a challenge. I ordered this case as an alternative to the $150 case provided by Canon (almost as much as I paid for the camera itself).
I found it almost impossible to move the switch back and forth while in the case, so I just didn't take videos. Another small issue I ran into. Took me a minute to realize what happened. As far as the pictures I took, they did not come out well. It was wet and sunny, so my pictures had A LOT of glare from the sun shining on the oversized lens cover. Mostly because of the camera kinda sticking to the vinyl, and you can't reach your fingers into the narrow case. When I received the case, I did the waterproof test I had seen suggested in one of the product reviews. Several of my pictures had the black shadow in the corners from the lens cover, even though I had practiced using it ahead of time.
Don't expect to get it right in one minute, took me about 5 minutes to get it inside and positioned correctly. Once the camera is inside, it is rather difficult to press some of the buttons, especially the smaller function keys on the back. Also, I couldn't use my flash because it was partially covered by the huge lens cover, and just increased the glare on my pictures (the flash reflected off the case onto my camera lens). If you need to be able to take quality pics for an important occassion, buy the disposable waterproof cameras, or opt for the expensive case.
I don't want a leak to be my signal that it's time to replace. This is definitely one of the best purchases I've made in awhile.
Well, I just got back, and I can honestly say that this did a great job on my snorkeling trip. I purchased the wp100 for my Canon SD790 at the last minute to take on my trip to Cancun.
Yes, the controls are sometimes difficult to maneuver (hence 4 instead of 5 stars), especially zooming, but it doesn't take long to get used to it. The camera fit perfectly, and the black ring over the lens only showed up in a couple of pictures out of 60 or so that I took- mainly because the camera shifted slightly in the pack without me noticing.
Once I made my adjustment, it was perfect. It will be difficult to know when this DicaPac needs replacing, so I may not use this more than a few times before buying a new one.just to be safe.
Even if it's only used 2 or 3 times, it's still a great deal and a much better alternative than buying disposable underwater cameras.
